Looking Forward

Our vision extends beyond social media management. We're working to become Japan's definitive bridge to Western audiences, helping Japanese businesses and creators maximize their global potential while maintaining their cultural integrity.

Simultaneously, we’ve built a strong foundation as the entry point for Western brands ready to tap into Japan’s highly engaged, trend-driven market—where consumer trust, platform-specific strategies, and cultural fluency make all the difference.

Our growth strategy reflects this vision, with plans to expand our team strategically over the next year while maintaining our commitment to personalized service and measurable results.

About Us · Tokyo × LA

The people behind the work.

A small core team with deep studio roots, directing a global bench of artists. These are the people who will actually make your project.

Core Team
BG

Brandon Gully

Founder & Creative Director

Brandon spent a decade inside the animation industry before building the studio he always meant to run. He painted backgrounds at Disney Television Animation for four years, designed at DreamWorks, painted at Titmouse, and trained as an art director apprentice at Disney — with credits running from Mickey Mouse to Beavis and Butt-Head. After nine years in Los Angeles he moved to Tokyo, built a media agency that grew brands and creators with audiences in the tens of millions, and then expanded it into the animation studio you’re looking at now. He leads every project’s direction and keeps the studio’s founding promise: feature-level craft, transparent line-item budgets, and power to the artist.

MB

Michelle Bos

Art Director & Lead Concept Artist

Michelle’s background spans animation, comics, and video games, letting her blend artistic vision with real production experience. She contributed to Diablo IV at Blizzard, worked with Titmouse and Gadget-Bot Studios, and led character art for Kaidro: The Awakening. At Librarie she guides the studio’s creative vision as Art Director and Lead Concept Artist.

KI

Katie Ishioka

Head of Story

Katie’s career began in live-action film before expanding into animation, where she has worked as a storyboard artist and writer on short films across multiple genres. Years of working with and leading small teams have made her adaptable across narrative projects and visual styles — exactly what a studio without a house style needs at the head of its story department.

KM

Karli Melder

Animation Director & Showrunner · they/them

Karli brings a decade of experience animating for high-quality primetime television, on shows ranging from cultural juggernauts (Beavis and Butt-Head, Rick and Morty) to cult classics and indie successes (The Midnight Gospel, Hazbin Hotel). That range — primetime budgets one day, scrappy indie productions the next — yields a highly adaptable leadership style that helps a crew succeed no matter the circumstance, and brings both cohesion and fun to a team that runs like a well-oiled machine.

PW

Paul Williams

Animation Director

Paul is a British filmmaker based in London who was mentored by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston — two of Disney’s legendary Nine Old Men. Starting out in mainland Europe as a traditional character animator, he has worked across the UK, Europe, America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan on productions including Asterix and the Vikings, The Illusionist, The Red Turtle, Klaus, Green Eggs and Ham, Ethel & Ernest, Funan, and The Magnificent Life of Marcel Pagnol, where he served as both animator and development animation supervisor. His credits also include the Oscar-winning short The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.

YH

Yuriko Honda

Production Coordinator

Yuriko keeps Librarie running across time zones. Working between Japanese and English, she coordinates the studio’s productions, schedules, and communications — the connective tissue between artists in Tokyo, LA, and everywhere in between. Nothing ships without passing through her hands.
